Dell Outlet Moan! Think if your putting a business delivery address for your order...

I ordered a Dell Laptop from the Dell Outlet store as it was slightly cheaper then the normal Dell Store. I ordered an Inspiron 1545, a laptop designed for home use. It came with Windows 7 Home Premium and was brought through the Home part of the Dell Outlet store.
I've since decided I want to return the laptop as I want something a bit more powerful. I haven't used the laptop yet so want to send it back under DSR. However I put down my work address as the delivery and invoice address, and heres where the problem starts. As I put a company name down my laptop is now a business order and isn't able to be returned. So my home laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium from the Dell Outlet Home store has turned into a business order just because I got it delivered to work as no one would be at home.
Had several calls to them this morning to try and get it resolved but so far no luck. Eventually after getting through to an English speaking woman was she able to understand the dilemma but still wouldn't gurantee I'd be able to return the laptop, however she has put a request in at least. Fingers crossed and wish me luck.
So if getting your home laptop delivered to work you may not have a cooling off period even if its a laptop for a home user. I usually recommend Dell's when people ask me what laptop they should buy but I'll be having second thoughts from now on.

I can understand you using works address for delivery, but for invoice too?
Can you see how Dell saw this as a business transaction? How were they to know any different?0 -
They weren't, but now they do, so they can deal with the OP's return as normal.0

Sorry forgot to mention, when ordering they would only dispatch to the invoice address, therefore I put the invoice address and shipping address as my work address. It was either that or have it dispatched to my home address where no one would be home to receive it. If the system allowed 2 addresses I would have done that.0 -
Just an update to my rant. The Irish call centre came back to me (thank god it wasn't Mumbai!) and have accepted the return request and restored my faith in Dell, providing it all gets returned okay.
Result! :j0 -

This is a pain isn't it? I've been put off ordering things to work addresses before for the same reason, but most also make sure card details match the invoice address anyway.0
