Defence Center Virus?

Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

I think I might have done something because a popup appeared saying a threat has been detected. It says it was a windows security alert but when i clicked on it loads of !!!!!! and spam icons appeared.
Then another popup said I got a virus from visiting !!!!!! sites (I haven't! Honest )
and torrent sites (I don't even know what they are??)


I've run an antivirus and anti-malware scan but it's not working.

Which anti-malware have you run ? If not malwarebytes, run that one next.

malwarebytes is the one I'm running.
I'm just doing it again and this time it's said 1 object is infected, but it hasn't finished yet

What should I do when its finished?

Removal instructions here but never used Safe Returner myself. If you proceed with guide then for stage 3 I would recommend using CCleaner not Regtweaker.

Post the malwarebytes log once its run

then ~
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
