Hi, i recently copied a wedding cd to my hard drive thinking i can burn it to another cd/dvd to play in my DVD player. For some reason it doesn't work.
The files copied to my hard drive are .dat files
The dvd player is a pioneer dv-360
Can anyone help me please? what type of file should i convert it to? what software should i use?

Is it a VCD, if so can't you use the copy CD function of the nero/easycd.
If you rename the .dat extension to mpg it might work.

.dat is just a container format. I'm not sure if you'll be able to rename it, as it may contain more than just the video. Usually why a .dat is slightly larger than it's mgp equivalent. Worth a try though."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0

Hi, thanks for all the help.
I sorted the problem by downloading Nero 7 and using Nero Vision to make a DVD, this was able to convert the file to a dvd file.
Excellent software, would recommend.y2j0
