If one writes the wrong thing, the real techies come and write the truths in numbers - so no worries about false information being released.

I'm sure I've been training the real techies for a few weeks now with my amateur guidances I post!

Only one problem with these boards, how does a newbie tell the differance between industry-qualified, time-served posters & those who just 'think' they know about fixing problems just because they read an article in Micromart?
I, for one, have qualifications that give me letters after my name (not that I'm self-centred enough to use them). I'm not the only one on here who can truely class themselves as an expert in one or more areas. However, there seams to be a large number of the helpful types who just repeat what others have posted in a vain effort to look usefull.

I too have letters that I could use after my name but choose not too. Thing is though (and please do not take this personally) letters after name do not necessarily mean someone is an expert, experience counts for a lot also, anyone can revise like heck for an exam and pass, but unless they keep up with practice etc then the letters are not worth the certificate they are printed on.

[sarcasm] I think that the regular techies that help people in this forum should have their signatures updated like the IFAs do so that we know that the information is legit[/sarcasm] :p

[Rant] I think I'll cut down on helping "post count 1" (or <10?) posters. Most of them are a bunch of unthankful people. They come here, dump their problem in the board and disappear. No feedback, let alone a click on the "Thanks" button... [/Rant]

You see this on any other forum, but the thing to remember, is that someone, maybe not necessarily the original asker will need that info, and you will have posted it...the info posted is always valuable imho...
