There's the hair on your head and it keeps growing on and on. Then there's hair 'elsewhere' that kinda stops. How does the hair elsewhere know it's long enough?
Whoa, I'm double surprised. Surprised I knew the answer to this, :eek: and even more surprised to see it on MSE :eek: in the gardening space.
It doesn't know - it just falls out because hair is controlled by some chemical I think it is and a new one grows. Eyelashes and eyebrows have short little lives
we just don't notice them fall out much. No longer half of Optimisticpair
