Blooming apostrophes

Options
I hate it when they're added to things like "Fish and Chips" on signs and so on. I know lots of others do as well.

If you google "Money saving expert" it shows that one of the links are the "Forum's"

Which winds me up!

I don't blame you. If they're passing these off as apostrophes, they're guilty of misrepresentation.

What you have quoted are quotation marks, and if anyone claims they're apostrophes, they should be reported to Trading Standards.

Ah well so many people do it now how can we expect anyone to know how to use them properly. Martin himself on his Facebook page wrote "As regular's will know its my killer day. ".

    Cringeworthy?

I feel your pain. Greengrocers seem to be the worst culprits with potatoe's, potato's, apple's, pear's, etc. Grrrrrrrrrrrr, it's like a dagger to my heart when I see a misplaced apostrophe. I also hate missed apostrophes in shop names like Boots (rather than Boot's).

Three, if you count the missing comma ... :D
  • I was temporarily blinded because the dagger was piercing my heart. Yes, three mistakes.
