I have been on IB for 11 years, now had a letter to go for Work focused interview. I have never had one before in 11 years, have done IB50 several times but never anything else. Does everyone have to have one, no matter how long they have been on it regardless of their medical condition?

Yes, everyone has to have one, at least according to what I have been told.
I get IS as part of Carer's Allowance and have to attend an interview every six months. Complete waste of time in my case as I am a full time carer for my mother and until she dies or becomes too ill to be cared for at home, that will never change. When I no longer need to look after her (and yes, it is full time, she can't bathe, walk, cook, wash, clean, anything really) it'll be wonderful to actually work a full day and get away from it at night - as I tell them every time I go in.:D Currently provide virtual 24 hour care, manage about 4 hours broken sleep a night. And as they say - it's far cheaper to pay me than a home
I usually get extra notice when they want me to attend an interview as I need to arrange cover for whilst I am out of the house.
I hope you manage to find a job soon. Soul destroying not being able to work and provide for your family without Government assistance isn't it?0 -
WFI are there to help you,if you are unable to return to work then they wont force you to,however if there is anything they offer to help make returning to work in the future then it will be help worth getting.I think you have 6 wfi in total, although it might be decided that after the first there is no point doing the other 5 atm.
