need help with a "simple" sale

I am hoping someone will be able to give me some advice about selling my share of a property with (hopefully) minimal solicitor fees.
I inherited my parents' house with my brother (both our names are on the deeds). He now lives in the house, and we plan for him to 'buy me out' and own the house completely.
I am hoping that this should be a simple process - as there will be no search or survey involved, it is the changing of names on the deeds that is the main issue (and transfer of some £££££ of course).
From some preliminary investigation this looks like it could cost us approx £500 each - as we will both need to engage a solicitor. Is this right? is there any cheaper way to do this? Could we do it ourselves using the Land Registry website (or is this likely to be quite complicated - as neither of us has much spare time to devote to it).
Thanks in advance for any advice, or tales of similar experience.
