Whats the cheapest way to permanently divert a LL num to another LL?

I have two Landline numbers, one is a 'gold' number which is on a landline socket at a property 30 miles away and is permanently diverted using *21* to another landline here. Both landlines come straight to here.
I am paying lane rental at the other property plus call divert for the gold number.
Both lines are BT (non cable) lines. The diverted gold number is on a Post Office Telecoms tariff, and the landline here is Talktalk.
Is there a cheaper way to divert my gold number to my landline here and save the cost of line rental and call divert at the other property?

You could consider porting the gold number to a reputable Voip supplier. Their is normally a fee.
You would then pay little or no line rental , no call divert equipment fees ,and cheaper call divert rates.
EG : Sipgate now allow you to port numbers to them.

Well done Ypaymore.
Im have been in dialog with sipgate via email following your link, and will sign the landline over to them today.
It saves me £12 a month, 9.4p per call connection fee and 5.9p a minute
Sipgate have agreed to a one-off £20 porting fee and 1.19 pence per minute for forwarded calls. No m onthly fee (none disclosed at this time).0 -
If you get a VoIPphone plugged into your broadband, or use a softphone on your computer, you won't have to pay the 1.19 pence per min for forwarding. And when you make outgoing calls on the VoIPphone the 'golden' number will be sent as calling line identity.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
