I have a load of orig perfect condition dvds. I am considering selling on ebay however am in fear of not hardly getting any money for them. I really dont want them going for 50p a time! Anyone got any tips etc as to get the best for them...maybe regards to price and time for the auction? Or any other tips etc?
Best Regards

Heres what I do...
I shop for the item I'm selling. I find the cheapest I can (including postage) and make a note of it. (Buy it now only)
I then list my item the same as the lowest price I find with FREE INSURED UK SHIPPING. (£5 abroad) They tend to sell right away and you get a fair price for them.
I bought Dukes of Hazzard from Vigin on sale for £5 and sold it on ebay (after watching it) and made £6. £1 profit!

thanks for your reply, sorry to seem thick but how do I go about offering free insurance on the dvds? Also bearing in mind, although they are perfect, the DVDs I own are second hand and not new. When you search for the cheapest price I am assuming out of Ebay...on the net etc?
Thanks for your reply again. Best regardsWork hard play hard......0 -
I think the point was FREE POSTAGE (insured)
Insurance is covered if you get a certificate of posting... doesn't cost you any extra. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Most DVDs just aren't worth very much, unless they're rare and out of print or only just released and selling for a tenner upwards. If you can buy it from somewhere like play.com new for 4.99 including postage, how many people will pay more than a pound plus postage on ebay, and risk getting a fake or copy instead?
At a minimum I'd say be sure to put a picture of the DVD in the ad and explicitly state that they are original disks and not copies: personally I don't buy DVDs from any ads that don't do that.
That said, I have noticed a few people bidding more than the new price on some DVDs I've bid on, where I gave up at half the new price

Try Amazon as sometimes DVDs fetch more on there than on Ebay.
However To avoid selling too cheaply on ebay all you can do is set your start price at the lowest amount you are prepared to take and don't risk going for a 99p start unless you have checked previous sales and are confident yours will achieve more than that.
