ESA in to bank.

Normally when I go on to my online banking ESA is showing the day it is paid. Today not even showing. I know it has not been stoped has the wife is in the support group.
Wondered if any one elses ESA has not been paid today or this week.

Unfortunatley it is common for them to miss or make late payments.
I'm in the support group as well and they missed a payment of mine a few months ago.
The reason why they missed my payment is that i made a call to them a week before to request a copy letter of my reward. This then caused my file to be triggered to the department that deals with such requests.
Apparantly the payments are not automated and need to be manually triggered.

If it's not in your bank tomorrow, give them a call. It will then be either of 2 options -

    1) the payment was triggered late, thus will take a couple of days to reach your account. or

    2) it has been missed, which they can then activate a chaps payment which means it will reach your account before 5pm the same day.

In my case it was triggered late and had to wait 2 days to recieve my payment. I then had to apply for a crisis loan to cover me for those couple of days, which i got, but was told it was my fault for not managing my money better and that i should be prepared for late payments!

    Good luck

ESA payments are, in the main, automated. The computer system is designed to issue payments while there is medical evidence or once someone is in the WRAG or SG.

    Sorry saintscouple-
'Apparantly the payments are not automated and need to be manually triggered'- is incorrect. Most benefit payments- except JSA where fortnightly signing is required- are processed automatically. Some IB/IS/ESA payments may sometimes be late if JCP don't have a sick/fit note to cover all of the fortnightly payment period. DWP/JCP simply do not have the staff to 'trigger' payments manually everytime.

Thanks for correcting me there, I must have mistunderstood what i was told, which isn't uncommon :o
I did find it strange that my payment was missed though when i was on IB Support Group - perhaps it was just a system glitch which they had to rectify mine manually which got me all missunderstood.

Thankfully mine went in all ok today, which after posting yesterday i thought i may have cursed lol

Still not heard why we have not been paid. Phoned them this morning. He did first mention sick note then realised she is in the support group and does not need them. He was going to get someone to ring us back but no one has.
Back on the phone to them tomorrow.
