quick deposit boxes

hi im wondering if anyone can shed any light on what to do next i deposisted £300 through my local halifax branch self post envelope service on to find out the envelopes gone missing and theres no record on my account the bank manager refuses to view the cctv of me deposisting the money and told me they cant do anything. Could anyone shed any light on what to do next?

    I've not used these boxes, but I would have thought they were meant for cheques only, not cash. I would be very wary of posting cash in them because there's no way you could every prove you had made a deposit.

    Even if the manager did view the cctv it would only show you posting an envelope. How would he know you had £300 in it? Anybody could post an empty envelope and later claim it was full of money.

    Only use the proper cash machines for depositing cash, -the ones where you get a receipt. Unfortunately, unless you can prove your case, you have lost your money.

    Why do people use these boxes?, Its one of the reasons why i refuse to use them!!!

    However, i smell a troll that has just come out from under the bridge.....
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.

    Halifax does allow cash to be paid via the deposit box (up to 300 pound max).

    Firefox suggested a 'letter in writing to the bank's complaints department, sent recorded delivery ASAP.'
