Sofas from Argos - any good?

Hi,
I've been looking at the deals Argos are doing for sofas and wondered if anyone had an experience of them. I've seen a leather one I like, at the right price and wondered if anyone had had any problems at all. Are they good quality etc?
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks

We bought a sofa from Argos a couple of years ago and sent it back straight away, the quality was horrendous.0

Find out what type of leather it is made from.
We had awful sofa's from Tesco that were made with split leather, and holes appeared in the seats within two months of normal use.
We did get our money back, but it was hassle and we ended up with no sofa's for three months while we waited for delivery from another company. Here I go again on my own....0 -

I don't have any experience of sofas from Argos, but I can say that an Argos book case that I assembled for the Bowls Club was a very nasty piece of furniture. As a result, I would be very wary of furniture from Argos. On the other hand, I have found that Ikea stuff goes together well and I would always have a look in Ikea if I was wanting new furniture.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
I ordered a chair from argos and it took over 6 months to turnup. And the quality was rubbish sent it back.May wins: koala June wins: Andrex Slippers0

I think to a degree you get what you pay for. I've seen them in the showrrom of teh Argios Extra stores and they dont; seem great quality (poor finishing, lack of support etc)
Try Ikea for a big choice and better quality (IMO) or firms like Sofasofa seem to get quite good reviews and support UK based firms apparently
Also check out ebay if you are looking at the Argos price point as youmay find some similar quality bargains on there, again check out lcoal sellers to you so you can see the item is as described0 -

I am going to defend Argos sofa's here! We bought a sofa and chair from Argos 3 years ago. Its a modern design in a dark brown fabric, kind of a suede effect, with wooden feet. Cant remember how much it was but I know it wasnt expensive. It is still like new, despite being well used every day by a family of four. Any spills or marks just rub off and there has been no sagging or loss of shape in the seats.
If I have to be really honest it isnt the most luxuriously comfortable sofa I have ever sat on but for the price it has been fantastic and I would have no hesitation from buying from Argos again.0 -
