    I spend a £100 a month on two adults.

So about £25 a week shopping (for two people)? Possible, but it must be tight. Me and my OH spend about £200 a month on food (give or take).

We spent over £200 last month and about £260 the month before. Absolutely ridiculous! We are going for £160 this month and lowering it again next month. I am sure we can eat very well for about £30-£35 a month, it's just making sure the shopping is done and no last minute trips for add ons.

Every quarter, we get sent tesco vouchers for about £11.50, which means we spend about £1100 a quarter on Tesco, which is a hideous amount if you think about it. (altho that does include petrol i quess, plus i think our powergen bill is linked to Tesco points)

  • have had a lovely, lovely day with my second eldest son. We have been out for the day on his 800cc motorbike, visited a castle and had lunch in a greasy spoon cafe. Money spent; £6.60 on castle admission and £7.30 on lunch. Priceless!

  • I'm hoping to do the bulk of my spending today so I can have lots of NSD this week...spending about a tenner on food, that should make me meals for a month! (I then spend a further £5 per week over the next 3 weeks for lunches etc) so reckon I spend about £25 per month on food for just me! Also, got to buy dad's pressie (£10 voucher) and put £10 in sisters card AND I need some petrol so I will probably spend about £40.

Oh, and going for a drink with a friend so that will cost me about £1.30 (1 half and then tap water!)
Was debt free... then went travelling!
