Warning asda £75 e-voucher not applied!!!

This morning Asda rang me to tell me that the £75 e-voucher that had been credited to my account had been a mistake by head office and so they would not be applying it to my shopping. I was rang ten minutes before my 2 hour slot delivery slot began. I was absolutely fuming and rang head office myself trying to get this sorted out. I was put on hold and passed to three different people who were all unable to help. All said they were sorry for the inconvenience but Asda would not be honouring the e-voucher even though it was their mistake and pointed out that it is in the terms and conditions of any offer that it can be withdrawn at any time. The last person (the team leader) offered me free delivery on my next order and a five pound gift voucher as a gesture of good will! I wanted to cancel the order however I have a five month old daughter, a very busy day (once Asda bother to show up!) and bare cupboards... not a great combination when trying to fit a supermarket shop in!
I am so cross! As the voucher had been credited to my account I took it in good faith and ordered extra food... needless to say that is all going to be returned with the driver!
So if anyone else out there thought they too had been lucky and won the prize draw, I am sorry to say its all a con.

Yep, it's happened to me. Except I got the call Sunday, half an hour AFTER my delivery which meant I had unpacked and started using items such as toilet cleaners, bin bags, food for sunday roast!!
I'll be really angry if they steal £75 from me.
Their mistake, they need to suck it up
Regards,
Dan0 -
Why should they honour it? I am sure you knew that it was a mistake when you were credited with £750

Why would you know it was a mistake, Moggitymog? People were told they'd won a competition. If you read the link posted by reehsetin:
The offer appeared on computer screens once customers had finished placing their regular order, and informed them that as a 'Dettol competition winner' they were entitled to a £75 discount.
The paper goes on to say people ordered more items to take advantage - I'd do this too, and I suspect would many others.
It's only a game

Dan they have every right to refuse the voucher before they deliver your goods, however as they noticed it after they delivered your goods you could argue that the contract has been completed and as such they cannot charge you anymore money. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

We had the same offer. We just took the voucher and said nothing. they delivered the shopping, we checked the bill and the bank and its gone through fine. Sometimes it pays to say nothing!0
