First-time buyer needs help! Haart mortgage offer

HI everyone

I am a very confused first time buyer, Haart estate agents are offering me a possible extra 5% gift contribution on top of my already 10% if i arrange my mortgage through them. I find them very pushy and at some times untrustworthy and such an offer seems to good to be true!

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? If anyone has dealt with haart before concerning mortagages and can give me any info i would be really greatful!

  • It's a ruse to get you to use their mortgage service, for which they'll get commission, plus encourage you to pay more for the house, plus get info on your financial situation. I would avoid it.

Speak to a finacial advisor or independent mortgage broker and see what the best deal is and see if they can match. If not dont use them,

Personally I wouldnt deal with them but thats because I have been messed around silly amounts by the estate agents (completely ignoring criteria etc) and there mortgage came nowhere near what the best provider could get me! Check with your bank as quite a few offer deals to FTB who have an account with them!

    Sounds dodgy.
Find another property and leave them to fester on their own.

What the others say. Plus NEVER get any financial or legal service from your sellers agent.

Haart are not independent brokers and have only a limited number of Lenders on their panel and even then they are not the best known brands . In general Lenders do not have to compete for applicants these days and therefore they dont need to rely on introduced business and you can get better deals going direct to the Lender.
