Ebay Refund

How do I do a refund for something I sold on ebay when I don't have any money in my paypal account?

I've tried a number of times but it says I can't refund more than what is in my paypal account

  • Hi have you tried adding funds to your Paypal account from your registered bank account?

Yea but that takes 7 - 10 days and the buyer who hasn't been nice says if I dont do the refund today she is going to leave negative feed back

That's one reason why a small balance left in Paypal is a good idea. You cant refund without funds so you'll have add funds. Your only other option is if you have a friend or family member with a paypal balance who would be willing to lend you the money if they send it as a gift you would receive it instantly with no charges.

There is a slim chance you could get the FB removed it doesn't technically come under ebays Feedback extortion rules but the fact that they have mentioned leaving you a neg there is a chance ebay may remove it

Oh, I didn't realise that. I've been paying for items bought on Ebay with Paypal and have no funds in my Paypal account - it just comes straight out of my Mastercard. I assumed it went straight through because the items I bought have been sent within a few days.
  • Is it a large amount of money, hun?

Not really its only £18 if she lived nearer I would drive it to her!

In 7 years on ebay I've only ever had one bad buyer and this is the one!

sorry to drag this one out again - I am so confused - not been on to my ebay account or email just for ebay since last weekend when I sent the buyer a refund, and i've just found an email from ebay that states the following
A case has been opened because the buyer has an issue with an item purchased from you. We reviewed the case and issued the buyer a refund of £16.00. The refund includes the purchase price plus the original cost of postage & packaging. s.gif
This case is now closed, and you don't need to do anything else.

So does this mean the buyer has had 2 refunds? Now ebay has credited my account with the selling fees but are they going to invoice me for the £16?

How did you do the refund? Is it showing up in your Paypal as a refund if that's how you did it? If so then you need to contact ebay on live help & tell them that you've already refunded. Did she open the case after you refunded?

  • I would think she wouldnt ant to let on to you if she was refunded twice. currently it sounds like she's quids in.

Probably quicker and easier to phone ebay...maybe?
