Past the Sell/Use by Date!

At the weekend I thought I would try some cheap Tesco tetrapak red wine for a family bbq (we didn't use it). Before opening it last night I noticed that the sell by date was 02/10/09.

After much deliberation (about a nano second) and in true MSE style I decided that I ought to drink it first then return the carton and receipt for a refund.

This morning I have thought it through and wonder if an alternative strategy of offering to remove the remaining cartons and disposing them for free would be better?

I have not lost faith in the carton and I am not after compensayyyyshun.

But what are my RIGHTS? :rotfl:

I would sue them. A child could have found that!

Also take it back for a refund, don't let them fob you off with a repair!
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

If you aren't going to share it then you need to drink it all asap.
