hi , i renewed our child tax credits over the phone 2 weeks ago today.
as we were paid child tax credits as if we were on £27'000 but were actually only on £19'000 for the year..i believe we are owed an underpayment
how long roughly until this is received ?
the lady did say 2 weeks on the phone but i rang yesterday and was told its still being sorted out !?
anyone else still waiting for theres or if you have received how long until you got it ?
thx

As far as I'm aware underpayments are generated automatically by the computer system and initial monies are paid out within days, but the paperwork follows a couple of weeks later. You just need to keep checking your bank account because it will go into that before you are told about it.
Just a little advice....don't go mad spending the underpayment, wait until they have finalized your claim as they can and do want some back at times.0 -
PK,
My partner has currently been waiting for 3 weeks, not had the paperwork or rebate yet.0 -

Had paperwork through post today AND underpayments in bank, so roughly 3 weeks for me and that was without making phonecalls to TC, just sent it by post.0

As said on another thread - I did my reclaim by phone last Monday, money was in my account on the Friday and paperwork all arrived today's mail.0

It's different for everyone, as everyone's circumstances are different. The line "you may receive several award notices over the next couple of weeks", is not a timescale, just that you might. For a lot of people this will be the case, and that's why it's said...as people need to then check the award notices (the next line is something along the lines of "you need to let us know if anything is incorrect"). Again, it depends on individual circumstances.0
