Tues 15th June - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D:D

GOOD MORNING ALL :hello::hello::hello:

Hope everyone is well and hapy - good luck with all your small things today and a warm welcome to any newbies :A

Didn't post yesterday but had a good DFW as was a NSD. Visited a friend for a few hours then relaxed at home :)

My list for today.....
  • Working at old old job 8am-8pm
  • NSD
  • Using much less petrol than if it was a uni day
  • Packed lunch
  • Essay mark should finally be out today
  • Relax tonight
A small list for me but will be earning some pennies which is great! :T

Take care

Today i need to get firmly back on the DFW wagon. Had our weekend away camping and costs seem to spiral. Went down to just £5 in my account!! Moved some 'clubs' money into my account and will have to put that back by the end of the month. I get £64 a week tax credits each weds so that will be on it's way.

I also put on 2lbs but i knew i would have as i had a week of no exercising and eating what ever i fancied :o

    Right today

    Day off (well week off!!)
A bit of quality time with OH while DD2 is at preschool this morning
    Air the tent
    hokey cokey
    clean the house
    Hoover
    scratches
checking banking - a little dire
    lunch and breakfast from stores
    dinner from mealplan
    exercising
    surveys
    send 2 ebay items
    look for bits to ebay
paperwork to sort on the table

Right i had better get on then!!!! xxx

Thanks for the thread Triangle! to everyone else, especially all the new posters from yesterday :T

I'm aiming for an NSD today - eating brekkie now, going to get some sandwich supplies from the fridge for lunch and there's chilli defrosting and some rice in the cupboard to go with that for tonight. I don't need anything else.

    Other things to do:
    • Get this flat in order! OH is helping out - suspect he's offering to do the dishes because he can see the world cup on TV from the sink, but who am I to complain??? :rotfl:
    • Enjoy a free cuppa at work and probs won't want one when I get home. (Might even have two!)
    • Quick shower (on heat setting 7 these days!)
    • Do my nails
    • Smile because I've now got enough for clubcard restaurant vouchers and I saw that they're now valid at Loch Fyne too :T
    • Bought a new dress with cash yesterday!
    • [STRIKE]Begged my sis[/STRIKE] Asked my sis kindly for a fascinator instead of buying one :A
    • Sticking with black accessories for outfit ^ and not navy as I don't have navy everything else and that would involve more buying! :A
Happy Tuesday everyone! I must run to work now unfortunately!

    Catch up later today.

    xx

    Good Morning All!

It's a tense day today as DH has just left for a meeting which will determine whether he will have a job in the future, so sitting here worrying, but going to make it a busy day and hopefully the time will go quicker. I'm going to:

    * peg the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer, as it's sunny today

    * clean the bathroom which is a lovley job, not, with the 4 of us using it, but always feel great when I stand back and it's gleaming, so should give me a boost once I've done it!

    * play some badminton in the garden with DS who has now finished school and has his last GCSE on Thursday, so the exercise should help us both with the stress levels!

    * Walk the dog for an hour or so, which should also help shift a bit more weight, have lost 1 stone 5 pounds in the last 4 months, with another stone to go to get within my healthy weight range, so heading in the right direction.

    * Keep searching this website and forums for helpful ideas on how to cut back on spending, as I'm a newbie to all this, so lots to learn.

    * Oh and not forgetting to have my 4 squares of Cadburys chocolate, just have to have a bit every day, and have even lost weight doing this! :D

Hope you all have a good day today!

Oh thanks for the good luck for DH, he's really feeling the pressure, feel so sorry for him, it's quite a shock as he's worked all his life and now may be signing on for JSA on Thursday. :( But positive thinking and let's hope that something can be salvaged from the meeting, I haven't given up hope just yet.

Oh thanks for those links, will have a look through, definitely need to cut down on food spending, especially with a 16 year old boy in the house who's always hungry! :T

Morning all. Just a quick list for me today before heading off to work.

    So far I have:
    • run washing machine overnight and hung it out to dry
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    • made lunch to take in to work
    • fed and watered chickens and let them out
    • sent 6 eggs in to work with DS3 to sell
    I will also
    • take motorbike to work as cheaper than the car
    • dinner off meal plan/stores
    • do knitting at lunch time so I don't go out and spend money
    • have an NSD
Looking forward to tomorrow as I've negotiated alternate Wednesdays off to look after DGD. We get up to so much mischief......

    • Brought lunch to work
    • All food from stores
    • Drive sensibly to eek out the last of the petrol
    • Write a couple of lessons
    • Pick up library book - saves me buying them and you can reserve online now ( a revelation to me! They even emailed me to say it was in!)
    • Walk dog for free exercise
    • Put dry washing away
    • Check banks
    • Try to find out how much I'm actually getting paid and when!
    • Maybe start tidying out wardrobe - don't actually know what's in there
That's it for today - ooh its lovely and quiet - in 25 mins all hell will break loose again!
