    I've never made it using tinned pumpkin, I always use fresh although I do think the flavour is better if it's fresh stewed then frozen then used in the pie. Out of curiosity, please can you post your recipe? The one I have involves evaporated milk & is very expensive:rolleyes: Also, why is it called a pie when it's a tart? Pie's have lids, don't they??:confused::o Always wondered about this:p

    Pies can have lids or not - they are baked in a pan or dish with sloping sides, tart pans have straight edges and sometimes a removeable bottom. Not loads of difference. Except we Yanks are pie-eaters, apple pie, cherry pie, key lime pie, Boston Cream pie - not many tarts spring to mind.

    Oooooh, now I'm hungry for pie!!!:p

    I saw it in Waitrose last time I was in, as I remember seeing it and wondering what on earth you would want it for!! So, now I know :)

    There is a Waitrose in Lincoln or Newark ...... HTH.
