When does the payment start?

I stayed in a hostel for two weeks, 17-31May. I applied for HB and are still waiting to hear about their decision.
On May 29th I moved in to a room that I am renting, this is in another council. Because Monday was a bank holiday so I had to wait 'til Tuesday before I went and asked about the HB forms. I was told I should do it online, she took some info about me and said I had a month to claim.
My land lord didnt give me the letter that I keep asking him for, as proof that I was renting from him, until Wed 9th. As soon as I had it I filled in the form online, I couldn't do it earlier because I didn't know his name.
I went to their office on Friday the 11th. She looked at my claim and the papers I had brought with me and she said everything was fine and that they would start paying me from Monday the 7th and that the first payment would be by check.
Will I not be paid from the date I moved in?

Sorry to be a downer but when i reapplied for HB it took them 3 months to sort out my claim but it was backdated ..you have to give them time they do have so many to deal with:AAutism isn't the end of the world just a journey to another one:A0
