Hi I wonder if anyone can advise me what to do I sold a pair of curtains the guy paid for them and I posted them the next day via parcel post printing the label via Pay Pal.
The buyer started asking the very next day when the parcel would arrive I told him how I had posted it & Royal mails guide lines. He emailed another couple of times & I told him pretty much the same thing.
This evening he decided to open a claim it is only 5 working days & left negative feedback. I now how a negative Pay pal balance and have no clue what to do.
The email he sent is -
yes which i have and we both agreed would be today and nothing. im not waiting for the nest 3 weeks to see what and if something happens. shall i just escalate the claim to paypal, are you sure they were posted you were a little quick to pull the insurance cover out of the hat. sorry to ask but i paid alot of money
thanks
I don't think he has allowed enough time for the parcel to arrive if it does arrive what happens he then has the curtains & the refund?
His feedback doesn't look promising he has left 4 negatives this month!
Any ideas?
He has now sent another email
hy lie you said you posted them last tuesday. today is 5 working days i paid on the monday. Ps do not say lies about me as i wont stand for it.
will escalate the claim let them refund me, You were too quick to offer the insurance please, are you sure you posted them, as you cound then claim the money and the item
I am absolutely devastated I printed the postage label through Pay Pal & took extra insurance to cover the £70.00 paid I have the proof of postage here from the Post Office I it is just seven days today I posted on the 8th he paid on the Monday evening.
I don't have the money just to loose money & curtains like this any ideas or advice?
Really Really upset!!

Firstly his negative feedback comes from him being a seller as buyers can't get negative.
Secondly he sounds like a complete nightmare!
Looks like you will have to claim your money back from Royal Mail as the buyer will get a refund as the item was sent untracked.
Reply to your negative feedback in a calm manner so that anyone reads it will see that you did nothing wrong.
Oh it might be worth double checking his address with him, he may have changed it recently and not updated it. Also ask him to check at this local sorting office, they might be waiting there. My daughters are my world0 -
I am sorry I meant it is the feedback he has left for other sellers what he has put is :-

Terence, you might want to delete the identifying details from your post.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Looks like you are never going to win this one. He sounds a little tapped, was his address a mental institution? I would still check his address with him and ask him to check at his local sorting office - as least then he can see you are doing all that you can.My daughters are my world0

I have tried I have emailed him every day since last week explained copy & pasted the information from Royal mail web site sent him a copy of the postage receipt there must be some come back surely he just leaves four negatives in two weeks & asks for his money back three times.
Does this mean he is going to end up with the curtains & the money and I have to try to find the money to pay to Pay Pal too.
Do you think I should cancel my listings as I have no way of getting the payment from them as Pay Pal have my account limited now since his claim I just don't know which way to turn.0 -
You will definately get your money back from Royal Mail, eventually. Yes that means he has got himself a free pair of curtains! He probably has them hanging up now.
You could try phoning ebay and explaining things, saying he has got a history of doing this but even so there is no proof of the buyer recieving the curtains as they weren't sent tracked. My daughters are my world0 -
Terence, when you send something over £41 in value you must either insure yourself or send the item tracked, or both. You insured them, so hopefully Royal Mail will pay your claim and you will be reimbursed.
It could be the buyer has the curtains or he may not have them. You won't know as they weren't sent tracked.
As he has a dispute, if he raises it, he will be refunded in full as you cannot supply a tracking number to Paypal. However, it could be he is trying to get a refund from you without it being escalated, perhaps as he has done this many times before.
You could ring Paypal and ask them to investigate that you feel he is continually doing this, gather any evidence first. It probably won't get you anywhere, but you never know.
I wouldn't cancel my other listings. When you say your account is limited, is it a hold on those funds or the entire account?
If you do continue with PP you will need to familarise yourself with the rules. If a buyer claims the item is not received, you need to provide an online tracking number. If you don't they will be refunded. Either send the items via a trackable means or insure yourself with adequate postage cover. You get £41 cover with RM standard first and second class postage.0 -
Hi Terence, what a nightmare for you. I had similar happen to me (only for £20 though) and in the end I did get the money back from Royal Mail.
Needless to say, I now send all of my items 2nd class Recorded Delivery/signed for. The tracking number is the magic number that sways everything your way with Paypal.
Take care hun x0
