Declined for a bank account

Hi,
I have recently been declined for a Current and a Solo bank account by Natwest and I am trying to understand why (and what to do).
I recently moved to the UK (Feb 2010) so I do not have a lot of credit history. However, I was able to secure a job and open a current account (and a Savings Accounts) about a month ago. I went in last week to open another current account as I travel and incur a lot of expenses for work and wanted to seperate the expense reinburstment from my salary.
I first tried opening the account over the phone and was declined, then I went into the branch and was declined again. I was told to check my credit file (via Equifax) which I did however I did not find anything outside the ordinary on the bank account.
I have a full time job and never had bad history in the UK. Someone at the bank said it could be because I was not living at my current location for very long (I moved flats less than a month ago) but still do not understand why I could not open the account.
When will I be eligable to open another bank account?
They were able to open another Savings account however per my understanding this does not go into my credit history, hence to build good credit history am I better off with a Solo account for expenses?
Kind regards

That will be your main issue, try asking to open a step account to keep your expense reinburstment from your salary.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
