I have to say I HATE these type of photos! I work in a primary school and ours school has done them the informal way for the past couple of years, and again the feedback is mixed.

I dont really get it , why would you want children holding umberellas or cheerleaders pompoms? And as a member of staff I had to half lie on the floor propped up on one elbow with a child grinning in my ear! Awful stuff, I much prefer the old style pic with 3 rows of children and the teacher in the middle! The photographer has had to come back both years and retake all 14 classes photos as they were so bad the first time round, the staff pic is awful too, we all look different sizes and some peoples heads are twice the size of the person next to them, due to the editing of putting together different groups shot seperately.
    Maybe I am just old-fashioned!

I'm a teacher too and we also had these done this year. It was horr4endous. Forced smiles from the children who had to drape themselves all over me - and from me!! The editing wasn't bad, but I think it's obvious the shot isn't truly a 'whole group' one. I like the old fashioned group - preferably outside under the trees on a sunny day. As for the ones posed with props- just weird unless they are in some way school related surely!?

Has anyone bought one of these unframed and managed to frame it themselves? DD desperately wants one, but at £29 framed  is very steep!
£10 unframed, £15 in mount, but order form doesn't say how large the mount is. If any other :money: parents have found a cheaper way of getting it framed, please please let me know!

my daughter had informal class photos at her school this year and i was very impressed the children were standing in a natural pose all looking very relaxed and they had a all white background and it was so much better than the traditional photo`s , im really hoping they catch on and become the new school photos for that school as my son goes to that school this year xx
