Even if she were to fall pregnant now and give herself that priority, most temp accomm consists of B+B placements, sharing facilities with the bottom of lifes barrel (drug addicts, alcoholics, prostitutes, thieves and child molesters) before the council tell you that in order to discharge their duty, they have found you a lovely PR in the cheapest area available. So, back to square one. This couple, of course, wouldn't get that far as they would almost certainly be made intentionally homeless as their rent arrears would appear to be the result of reckless spending rather than affordability. So, that'll be 14 days notice to vacate the worst B+B in town. Which leaves them with the choice of returning to family, paying the B+B themselves (LHA will help) or finding their own accommodation. Homelessness is brutal in 2010. That's why the number of people officially homeless and applying for Section 7 assistance is in steady decline.
