Send expensive phone to Italy.....

Im selling a phone worth £350+ on eBay and someone has asked me how much to send to Italy.

I check Royal Mail and they only cover upto £32 for Internationally Signed for and Airsure. Would I have to add insurance to it? Whats the best company and method to use?

I already stated in my auction that I will send to Europe!

The Royal Mail no longer offer any insurance on mobile phones worth more than £32 when posted abroad. So decline the offer and reset your auctions for UK only.

Or check out a courier company...will be expensive though. Safer to stick to ULK buyers for phones

Italy is the new Nigeria/Africa - Ive sold 3 items to Italy that have either generated problems or have wanted me to forward them on to an Address in Africa. - Be very careful

The nigerian/african scammers are reported as operating now from European countries as bidders, and then getting them shipped on to Nigeria etc.

They're doing this because people are wary of sending stuff to Nigeria and are trying to make themselves look more genuine to pull off the scams.

MoE - you'd be much better off selling to UK only, as you seem to have a lot of problems with your transactions.

I've sold to Ital before and havnt had problems, maybe circumstances have changed recently.

I also got someone asking from America, I want to get maximum price for this phone thats why I was asking. Better be safe than sorry.

If I were you lazymoezy I wouldn't agree to post a mobile phone anywhere abroad because of the reason mentioned above. I'm guessing it's a fairly new mobile, so I'm sure you will get a lot of interest with just UK buyers.

I told them that I wasnt going to post.

It's a new phone, just thought people in other countries would have heard of it before some over here because its practically days old and retails over £500. Oh well, its going well so far, just under 12 hours to go.

SOLD! Just under £400, hope they dont pay via Paypal as the fees are ridiculous. I did offer a 25% discount on postage if they were to pay via bank transfer, cheque or postal order.

Oh! The buyer is from UK with good feedback. Waiting for a reply.

One more thing, can we still use Nochex? I think I heard it was banned or something? ? ?
