I sold my PS2 and a few games a month ago, all to seperate buyers, with the PS2 going special delivery. All the items, for some !!!!!! reason that only Royal Mail could explain and subsequently sidestep, all of them were delayed, though the PS2 did arrive a few days later. However, before that happened the buyer opened up a dispute, and escalted it into a claim - one that Paypal granted, puting me £95 out of pocket. This followed up with the other buyers, on separate incidents, openeing up disputes and ,mkaing a claim (to be fair, it was three weeks and they stil hadn't received it).
For the standard posted ones, I sent off the postal receipt since the buyers didn't request recorded delivery of any sorts - meaning online tracking was not possible. Though I'm prepared to let it slip as the value of the three items were "only" collectively £30, I'm not willing for the PS2 to go, especially since I gave them the f-ing tracking number.
Just a few days ago I sent off the SD receipt along with the postal receipt for the others - Paypal have replied saying they received the SD one, but want the postal receipt for that too! Really, what is the point of that? I've sent the damn thing, you've proof the thing's been sent - but noooo, paypal still won't give me a refund.
No mention of the other receipt for the standard parcels either. Just wanted to know where I stand on this? Paypal seem to be on some personal crusade to !!!! me over, no matter what proof I give them. Can I go to a small claims court if need be?

Hello,
I would ask your buyers to tell Paypal that the claim is no longer in dispute. I bought some items (bed linen) on Ebay and they were about two months in coming so I reported the seller and got my refund from Paypay. Then the seller contacted me to say that they had in fact been posted but had to come from abroad hence the delay. I agreed that if the items arrived I would tell Paypal that the dispute had been resolved. They did arrive and I did tell Paypal that I was happy and that the dispute had been resolved. Had I not told Paypal I may have had both my refund and my linen but I am an honest person!0 -
Firstly may I suggest you move this over to the ebay forum where you will get a better response.
Secondly, getting the items to your buyers is your responsibility, therefore the buyers with the games did not have to ask for recorded or insured as that only protects you, not them. However, personally where the RM does lose packages I would normally just refund my buyers in week 2 and then reclaim from the Royal Mail after 15 working days (which is when RM consider it lost) to recover my own losses, no need for it to go to a chargeback at all.
For the special delivery item is it now showing as delivered? If so paypal should only need a copy of your SD slip as that is proof of tracking and proof of posting, again ask on ebay forum as others can advise you on how to respond to paypal much better than I can.
Frankly it doesn't seem that your anger should be directed at paypal here, but to the Royal mail who seem to have completely lost the plot.
Don't forget as well that special delivery is guaranteed next day delivery so if it was not delivered next day then you can claim compenation from the Royal mail which you can keep as it is nothing to do with your buyer at all.

Sorry, just rereading the original post I just want to clarify that the SD does show as tracked *and* delivered online? It is a fallacy that merely sending something tracked is sufficient to stop a paypal claim it is not, it MUST show as delivered and the address on your SD slip must match that of the buyer.
If the PS2 does not show as delivered then you will lose the paypal chargeback, but you can reclaim from the Royal mail.

apologies, didn't know there was an ebay forum... this site has so many sub topics!
Just to clarify, the SD package has been confirmed delivered on the RM website, and I've even sent the slip given (the silver one with the stamp on) to them, but they're still requesting the receipt used to pay for it???
Also, all the items (normal and SD) have been refunded, on paypal's decision (initiated by the buyer) - hence being £125 out of pocket.
pbradley, if my buyers were like you everything would be fine!0
