minimum period to keep a Current AC

Hi,
I opened a basic HSBC current account one month ago but after reading the MSE best current account guide I want to move my account to the Halifax account as the possible 50 pounds bonus for transferring sounds very attarctive.
So my question is, can I transfer the account after such little time open? The account has about 3 monthly direct debits.
will I incur any penalties or charges to transfer?
I have tried reading the T&Cs but can't find anything on minimum time to keep it open.
Thanks for your help in advance.

I don't think you can switch a hsbc basic account with a halifax current account.
Why? The type of account being switched from is irrelevant, so long as the OP passes the credit scoring with Halifax (and meets the switching incentive T&C's), then I see no reason why not.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -
If the terms and conditions don't state a minimum period, I doubt whether they can enforce one. Personally, I'd wait until I'd received the bonus though0

Bonus? I didn't get a bonus for the HSBC AC.
Anyway, thanks for the replies. I decided I will ask Halifax if HSBC might charge me for transferring the account so soon. Don't really want to speak with HSBC about it as they might try to pitch me other accounts to try to keep my custom.

Why would you ask Halifax what HSBC would do?
That's a really strange concept... No, HSBC won't charge you for closing an account or require you keep it for a minimum period.
I'm not HSBCs biggest fan, but they are a far better bank than Halifax. Grab the £50 by all means, but just keep this in mind before you close your HSBC account.Bonus? I didn't get a bonus for the HSBC AC.
