Facing Facts (and figures!) - £500 a month challenge

Hola,

I started a thread a couple of months ago but lost focus almost immediately!! This time I have a plan and the resources to be DEBT FREE!

My plan is to pay £500 off my debts every month (my debts are around £8k ). I was lucky enough to get a £2k payrise & I've just moved to a cheaper place where the rent includes all bills so hopefully I won't be soley living off of beans!!

So that's my challenge and the start of my diary (properly this time!). Hopefully within 18 months I'll be debt free and actually saving. The thought is almost laughable at the moment!:rotfl:

Good spending day today. Just lunch £2.75 bought - usually I make my own but didn't have time yesterday.

Still suffering from whiplash from an accident a few weeks ago so feeling generally a bit rubbish today. Really in a comfort eating mood but my housemate has offered to cook...I'm staaaaarving. Lord knows what's taking him so long!

First £500 paid off, just 15 to go! Hah!

Still have terrible whiplash and I've made a claim so I'm hoping for a nice tidy sum to throw at my debts too but not counting on it. Would soften the blow of not being able to move without pain though :)

Right, I have just listed 14 items on eBay. I'm actually doing this horrah! :D

I've now got in the habit of really thinking about my purchases. I want my own place desperately and I could afford it now but would only be able to afford min payments on my debts so sharing is the most sensible option but I'd much rather live alone. Sooo everytime I'm about to spend I think about getting home from work and opening my own front door & no one being there aside from me & my stuff. Hah that sounds a little sad but it's my dream at the moment.

Get a flask and take your own coffee to work. That might get rid of the temptation :)

Well done on paying off the first £500 polaroid!

I can understand you wanting your own place, I was the same until I moved in with my DH, I hated sharing otherwise. At least it's something you can keep as an ambition for when you are DF

With Love Film is it possible to get a lower package rather than cancel it altogether?

I've done exactly that and have reduced it down to the £3.99 option.

Yeah I'm not made for sharing. Spend majority of my time in my bedroom. I get home from work and I just don't want to socialise with my housemates. They're lovely people but aside from living together we don't have anything in common so conversation is a bit of an effort. Ho hum!! I got myself into this mess...
