My son has an interview for a part time job at Toysrus tomorrow, he is 16 years old. I'm a bit out of touch and haven't a clue what he should wear.
Any advice welcome, thanks in anticipation

I would say smart trousers, smart shirt and tie (no need for jacket) but tell him to make sure his shoes are cleanThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Hiya!
I would agree with everyone so far, smart shirt, trousers and a tie. (Don't think there's any need for a jacket). And nice clean shoes (with no white sports socks!)
Wish him good luck!

New shoes and definately no white socks!! I was unsure about the tie, but will go with the idea of him wearing one now.

I personally wouldnt recommend a tie for a 16 year old, but agree with the others about the rest.
Lots of eye contact shows confidence.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Why? I always went for interviews suited and booted because I was told its the done thing, maybe I overdone it, I wonder if the interviewers thought I was odd

As long as he is tidy then he should be ok but from doing interviews, if he came in with shirt & tie etc.. I would be impressed. This would be a big plus point for him.0

Same here - first impressions count.
Shirt, smart trousers, clean shoes, tie, and no white sox!;)Mags - who loves shopping0 -
Times have moved on.
I don't think wearing a tie for a minimum wage in Toysrus is necessary. Trousers;Shoes and a shirt/smart jumper will be fine.0 -
DEFINITELY a tie at Toys R Us interview! Ensure he knows about roleplaying and doesn't feel intimidated by it! A friend was hried by them last year, and had to go on 3 days of 'role playing' team get togethers right away - and there was role playing in the interview as well. Just a heads up - as it can catch you off guard! Good luck to him
