Just curious what types of insulation should be used within a 3" wooden partion frame...used to make a utility room with a garage?

also a what type of insulation should be used when latting the walls (4" single brick)?

no access problems, as partian wall is all being built up from new. Just builder has been using a polystyrene material very similar to what is used in electrical packaging, and i thought it should be the foam blocks as used in cavity walls.
