Hi Folks
I hope this is the right forum, if not, can you please direct me to the correct one.
Anyway, my problem is as follows -
I have recently put an advert on a website advertising my home based business. I was told by the owners of the website that whenever someone clicks on my advert (which is on their website), a box should automatically appear on the screen which prompts the indivdual to send me an email if they are interested in the business etc.
However,to test this out, when I clicked on the advert myself, the following error message was dispayed on the screen -
'Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed'
Could some one please explain what this message means, and how the problem can be rectified. The owners of the website are adamant that there are no problems on their side. I use yahoo for email.
Thanks in advance for your response.

That's a problem at your end, not at their end, and it's not a problem so much as normal behaviour. When you click a mailto: link on a website, it'll open your mail client to send an email. You don't have a mail client installed/setup, since you use webmail. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Have you an email client like Thunderbird or Outlook installed on your PC. If not, the the message means exactly what it says, "there is no default email client installed". If yes, then it is "not properly installed". This means, the "mailto:" URL is not assigned to an email program on your PC.0 -

There is a solution for GMail and maybe for other webmail solutions too. Just google "mailto <xyz>"
