Hi
Firstly sorry if this is in the wrong place, wasn't sure if it should have been in the 'i wanna buy it' forum or in here so I went for here. Secondly sorry for the rather poor picture but I'm not good at explaining things.
Ok I'm after three things which are all shown in the picture below. The first is a hasp with a key lock on it. B&Q and focus sell them in chrome but I really need one in black, any ideas on where to get a black version from?
Second picture is a metal thing that attaches to a wall so that when a gate opens against it the gate latch is 'caught' by the thing and holds the gate open. I'm sure i've seen them before but I can't find them now, the closest I can find is something that fixes to the floor and holds the bottom of the gate itself which wouldnt work in this case (dodgy floor and not much clearance)
The third picture is a relatively simple thing, a bolt hole cover. No idea what its called but its a square (or any shaped) metal plate with a hole in the middle for a bolt to pass through. It would be fixed to the side of a wall or fence post I think. I know the exist but again don't know the name or where to get them from.

Thanks a lot and once again sorry for the picture

second is a gate latch.
third is a square washer or a spreader plate.
washers are usually round though.
spreader plates can be round and square.Get some gorm.0 -
Thanks for that, I didn't think of just using a big washer, I assumed it was a specialist 'bolt hole cover plate' or something. I'll check out the spreader plates too.
The second picture wasn't very good, I didn't draw it well I dont think. What I'm after is something about 6 inches long (or thats how long I think i've seen them before). So it's the latch thing in the link you sent me but with 6 inches of metal between the bit that screws to the wall and the hook if that makes sense. Coincidentally the link you sent is the exact latch that we've got on the gate as well0 -
yes i know what you mean.
in the past, some extra large items ive had made by a local blacksmith.
or made them meself, if ive got access to oxy/acet welding gear.
at the moment, ive only got an arc welder. can be done, but harder to do.Get some gorm.0 -
To hold the gate open at the side of my house i have a simple hook and eye, a bit over 2" long, the hook screwed to the wall and the eye on the gate. If you can't find exactly what you want that works ok.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
