    you could try this:

    sp3..

but I suspect you might need the disks to resolve it.

has it been happening a while? When you say quite often, what do you mean, any pattern, does that application work after a cancel?

    Do they run windowsupdate?

Do you have an IT dept at work?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

This usually comes up when a feature being selected in an Office application has not been selected to be installed at the original installation e.g. clip-art.

What action is it which causes this to appear?

I vaguely remember this to be a Microsoft Installer issue. Hopefully it will jog someones memory.

The only was to solve it is to provide the disk it is asking for, it is asking for the disk with SP1 built in and it wont take any other disk. I have both versions of the office 2000 disk as alot of my customers have both versions depending on whan they bought the pc. If you have another disk that works uninstall office and reinstall from the disk you have there is no way round it im afraid. the uninstall wont ask for the disk.

Service pack upgrades require the disk, adding of additional features also ask for the disk. I always do a compleate install with office so the only time it will ask for the disk is if a service pack update is installed whihc the customer is unlikley to ever do.
