If you use Textedit, you can save it as a PDF, Rich Text Format (readable by everything) or Word 97/2003/2007 or OpenDocument Format but Textedit is quite basic.. If you use OpenOffice, you can save it as any of the aforementioned as well and its got a nicer interface.0

Easy, just go to Edit, choose export and 4 choices will be given, 2 of them are word or pdf0
