The 20 model is the replacement for the 10, and that should mean that it's better...0

This seems like really good deal (I would go for the "20" model). I was interested in the latest LG 50" which is on sale for around £650, but to be perfectly honest, the 42" would be better for our room. Would I be correct in assuming that the Panasonic would be a better buy than the LG?0

Have you ever used Pixmania before, because the only time I tried (a washing machine), they took my payment, and then contacted me a week later to say the appliance was out of stock, and they would send one within two months. I had a heck of a job getting them to refund my card.0 -

Infinitely. The best buy by far is the Panasonic TXP42G20 from Richer Sounds @ £819. It has built in Freeview HD and Freesat HD but most importantly, it is a THX certified display and on AVFORUM tests, is about as close to perfect, pre-ISF calibration, as is possible so you get a picture which is pretty much close to what the director intended without the cost of an ISF-Calibration. The only one better being a £2300 Pioneer model which they count as a reference model.

Id have to disagree with that. Its good for a preset, but its still quite some way off the mark with colour tracking and gamma
The pioneer model you speak of is actually as near perfect as you can get and even ISF engineers never veer more than a single + or - minus figure on the RGB set up (Clearly the panasonic needs FAR more calibration doing to get the correct greyscale etc):idea:0 -
Did you read the AVForum review? Its not just a "this is a good telly" type. It is an in-depth one and shows a full detailed analysis using ISF-Calibration equipment both before and after calibration. The greyscale is very slightly out as its not calibrated on a per-unit level but the CIE Gamut is nearly spot on.0

yes I read it, and yes im pretty well up on calibration as I use an 'eye one' sensor myself (Not true ISF I admit, but as good as a general user might use):idea:0 -
I have bought from pixmania before and never had any problems,
Think the 20e is a real good deal, Ive been told Panasonic is the best for plasma (rather than the LG)
