Cheap Hotel in London for Friday

Help!

I thought I had booked a cheap travelodge room for this friday so have booked time off work, got Daughter excited etc etc and now I've gone to check and realised that its 18th July!

Can anyone suggest anywhere cheap(£50ish) for the three of us? two adults and a child.

Alternatively does anyone know of any codes that can be used to bring prices down?

So far I have found a couple of 3* for £50 but they are miles out of the center.

Can anyone help?

TIA

Don't know about hotels but this links to university halls?

The Hoxton Hotel is great, but I think it's only cheap if you book in advance.

How far away is miles from the centre? Work out where you'll be spending most of your time, and if you can stay on a tube line that connects to it, you'll be pretty sorted. I woudn't go outside zone 2 though (travelcard zones transport for london).

  • *also wants to know where 'miles from the centre' is* If it's near a mainline train station then you can get the train into central London and get to places via the Tube.

Otherwise it might be worth looking at youth hostels - a friend of mine has stayed in the YHA St Pancras and had nothing but good things to say about it, however London Central was a bit more of a 'party' hostel so maybe not the best with young children.

If you use the friends and family link on this MSE post, The Holiday Inn Express at Park Royal is £51 for the night you want and includes breakfast. It says it is 2 mins walk to the North Acton tube station (central line) and it is 15 minutes on the tube to Bond Street (Oxford Street) for example on the tube from there. The central also has a good planned service for this weekend (unlike a lot of the other line, if you check on the TFL site).
