Hi
Quick questions...
I had an arrangement to pay an over the limit OD with lasted one month back in Feb 2008 with Barclays. Received my credit file from Experian and noticed it shows up on my history.
1. How adverse are AP's to one's credit worthiness?
2. Should I close the account as it is not my main, but has been running smoothly and within T&Cs since '08?
3. If I do close the account will the AP remain for 6 years like a default?
Any answers will, as always, be appreciated!

I have found numerous opinions about the severity of an AP, it's duration on a credit file. Please does anyone have an answer that they know is 100% accurate?!

I beleive it is best to keep it open and now reporting as satisfactory as it will fall off faster than 6 years, I think it is 3 with Experian and cant recall what it is with Equifax. This is in their CIAS and Insight databases that is the name for the parts that collate who you handle your accounts.0
