I'm not a control freak for a start and I don't think I'm more important than anyone else, I was only asking if anyone new where a good recording studio was... you don't need to know everything about me to tell me what recording studios are good!!!

I think it was more directed at the fact you posted asking for help, more info was sought to point you in the right direction...then you take a fortnight to come back....venture no more information ...then whinge about it....sorry...perhaps if you used the "thanks" button you may have done better.
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:

Abbey Road is good, as is Air. If you want to go to Box in Wiltshire, RealWorld is good.
Since you're not really telling us your exact requirements, it's difficult to advise you on what studios fit your needs. That's why we're asking these questions. We're not prying, we need this information to give you an accurate and meaningful answer.

If you're bringing along your own backing CD to use then just about any studio should be able to do this for you.
If you need backing, either computer generated, or session musicians, then different studios will be more suited to those.
Also the styles would help. some studios have specialities which would be more suited to particular musical styles.

With studios you generally get what you pay for. Realworld, for example, is £1000+ a day. It costs that for a reason.

If you're on a tight budget, and you already have finished backing tracks, then what I would recommend is finding what colleges nearby do music production courses and see if you can be recorded by the students as part of their coursework. Theres an SAE (School of Audio Engineering) in London, I think as well.
