Any student discounts on computer stuff?
I'm looking to Build my own computer, very high specs, probably somewhere near top of the range, as it needs to run some fairly complex CAD software and I need rendering time to not be a zillion hours.
Is there anywhere that does components, or will do a top-range but customised computer. I don't want a dell package, i don't need an OS or a monitor but I am looking at some pretty expensive specs.... and offer a student discount for an Engineering student specialising in CAD?

you could try your uni's IT dept - I know some places sell computers at good rates to students.
maplins have 10% off for students (and more offers if you sign up to their email newsletter) - but for high spec stuff, not so sure - it's not your standard student market. ebuyer and dabs may be your best option!:happyhear0 -
I'd ideally like somewhere that allows me to customise but builds it for me and offers a good guarantee... but am looking for 4GB Ram and can't find anywhere that offers that as an option so think I will have to build my own, or build and upgrade I guess0

try mesh or evesham micros (think its micros) they do custom builds and may do you a student discount0
