Halifax irressponsible and annoying

Hi have had a bank account with the Halifax for years now and have used it to pay salary into etc. A few years ago I got myself debt and mortgage free and so fixed my overdraft at £150 with a note on my account to never increase it unless I requested it.
Last November I left my job and set up my own business this year so took a business account with Llyods (free for 18 months) so now only use the Halifax to pay some direct debits etc. I only pay myself the bare minimum at the momment and last week went into my overdraft for the first time in several years by £38. I have since received a letter from the Halifax saying we have increased your overdraft to £1386 (?) without me requsting it or anything.
Now I thought banks were supposed to be lending responsibly but this is more than I have put through that account in the last 3 months, it's as if they want me to go into debt.

You do not have to use it. Just ring them up and tell them you cannot trust yourself with the increase in overdraft and they will only be too delighted to decrease it.

You can reduce your overdraft on their internet banking site if you have it.
