I lived in Carpenders Park from 1986 until 2003 when I moved through work to a different county.

I can honestly say that at no time did I feel unsafe, it is a nice place to live. You may be concerned that it is near to South Oxhey (London overspill estate built in the 40s and featured in the Gareth Maloney programme, The Choir). They share the same train station when, at the end of the walkway, you go out one entrance to South Oxhey and the other to Carpenders Park therefore there has always been perceived to be some divide socially. The book Tropic of Ruislip (Leslie Thomas) was based upon this area and is worth a read even if it is a work of fiction.

There is a lovely primary school (St Meryl's) in Carpenders Park with other schools in South Oxhey. Older children need to travel nearer Watford/Bushey for their education.

The houses are of various styles, many being of the flat roof variety built in the sixties, I had one of those, no real problems. There are also lots of bungalows and some flats.

Life in Carpenders Park was certainly very pleasant and I can't think of anything bad to say. If you want further information, please PM me.

You may (or then again may not) wish to know that Carpenders Park is actually the setting for the Leslie Thomas novel Tropic of Ruislip.
