I'm not a participant or organiser or anything (so should I be promoting this?) but I've been before and I think that at present it's the nearest thing the UK has to the big USA beading exhibitions we lust after in their beading mags.

Hi lillybell, advice needed

I have been interested in making jewellery for a while now, there is not much in lancashire to learn how to make jewellery. I did get on a course, but the course was cancelled!!!

I have got a lot of material now to start making earrings do you have any good tips or any good instructions??

My OH teaches a couple of jewllery/silversmithing classes (not beads though) so if anyone has a question lob it over and I'll see if he can help.

I miss Janet Coles which used to have an excellent catalogue and could be visited not far from me in Worcester. I think I've used Kernowcraft before and the Brighton Beadshop was quite cool but I didn't get inspired to go mad in there!

Online I'd recommend an ebay seller called wychbury-therapies who has some gorgeous gemstones, freshwater pearls and spacer beads at good prices.

a bit far for most people yes....

but there is The Bead Shop in covent garden, two floors of tons and tons and tons of beads. its next to Fopp on Shaftsbury avenue, not sure of website though...
