Jewellery Making? Bead shops in southeast / websites & sterling silver

Options
Can anyone recommend a place to buy beads and other jewellery making products in the southeast. Or any good value websites that sell quailty beads, findings and sterling silver chains? :o

    Hiya,

I've just started this myself, and I can't help, but if anyone knows where there are good shops in the South West - particuarly Mid Devon/East Somerset, I'd be grateful to hijack your thread!

    Hi,

I swear by Kernowcraft, a cornish company. Their newest catalogue arrived this weekend and its been hard tearing myself away from it.

    http://www.kernowcraft.com/

They have a good range of sterling silver and 9ct gold, along with gemstone beads etc. They also sell all the findings and specialist tools.

    Or, try these:

    http://www.beadmaker.com/ PJ Minerals
    http://www.beadmaster.com/ 21st Century Beads
    http://www.beadmerchant.co.uk/

I've used all these sites, and prefer Kernowcraft.

we use Burhouse in Huddersfield, going up there next week in fact for a visit.

You do need to provide evidence of previous trading, ie invoices from suppliers

where are you in south east? I am near Canterbury

My friend and I went to a fantastic bead/jewellery making shop in Ruislip Manor (northwest London). We had a 2 hour lesson in basic jewellery making and then made 2 pairs of earrings afterwards - for just over £8.00!

The shop is called Elle Art (tel. no 01895 633528). They stock everything - beads, fixings, silver, tools etc.

    Hi all
there is a good list of UK beading wholesalers with reviews and info here :

    http://www.uk-beaders.co.uk/ukbasedsuppliers.htm

I always find the problem with buying online is quality, but the options in Dorset are very limited. I'd love to have a rummage around a 'real' beadshop again.
I have bought from the big American wholesalers and found their goods to be superb - but the drawback is customs charges.
