Deposit refund for a new car - urgent help needed please!!!

I went to a Vauxhall dealer on Friday afternoon and enquired about the new Astra - getting as far as filling in the order form and paying a £500 deposit.
However, as much as I would love to proceed with the car order, the money I was going to use in conjuction with my part exchange to fully pay off the Astra is now needed rather urgently for a personal matter.
I finalised the form and signed and paid at approximately 5pm on Friday afternoon, and was alerted by the salesman that the window for orders that day has now closed so can't be processed until Monday (tomorrow). I am due to return to complete it tomorrow. As far as I am aware there are no computer records of me ordering the vehicle, only the order form I filled in and signed, and since this is only a piece of paper, and no order has been placed with the manufacturer, is it likely that I will be able to receive my deposit back, there can't be any cost implications to Vauxhall yet?!?!
Any urgent help would be appreciated, or advice.
I am prepared to lose the £500 if necessary, but as you can imagine it is not ideal!!!!
Much appreciated in advance, Daniel:beer:

You really shouldn't get your deposit back. But get yourself down to the dealer as the doors open and plead your case you might get lucky.0

The idea of a deposit is that you are showing a sign of commitment. Kind of useless if you can turn around a few days later and say "lol I changed my mind".
You're assuming they haven't done anything that will involve a cost. So you're just telling me that they have taken your £500, and have done absolutely nothing? Is it just going to sit there for eternity and a car will magically appear? The fact that they've already paid staff to sit with you and fill in order forms suggests that there are costs involved before you've even left the dealership.
Having said that, get yourself down there as soon as possible. Pull on their heartstrings, and they may pay it back.0 -
They can't withhold your entire deposit but can take out costs from it.0

Untrue; they could sue for significantly more if the could prove a greater loss.
