What order are you getting things

I just wondered how everyone is getting/ordering their bits and pieces.
I decided on the theme, then the church and wedding breakfats/reception then invites and flowers, wedding ring and my dress.
As money is a bit tight I decided that I would get the important things priced up first then everything else is an extra

We decided on our budget, and then costed the different options up. I had already bought my dress, and we decided to use Tesco vouchers at Goldsmiths for our rings, so that helped with the available amount too.

Once we had a our budget, we researched online the costs of things like venue & reg.fees, hotel reception cost (we opted for a 'deal'), BM dress, flowers, suit hire, band etc, and decided what we REALLY wanted & what we could do without.

Getting married in a year and so far we've done....

The Venue & prvisional booking with the registrar.

    That's it, heh!
We need to give our notice next week, and we're thinking honeymoons.

I have resisted thinking about buying stuff like dresses etc yet as I don't want to get carried away with spending loads (I've read about people getting more than one Wedding dress if they start buying WAY before the wedding).

I'll probs leave bridesmaids stuff till next spring.

The main things next on my list are Honeymoon & DJ/music.

We are doing something very similar to this, except we are using our Tesco vouchers to go towards our honeymoon.

Although I have set a budget for each area of the wedding I am still looking to shave off money if I can.

Sorted out the ceremony and the wedding breakfast/venue first, now I've almost got a dress, photographer is next on my list.

I think the general rule is to do the things that are most important to you first.
    I :heart2: saving money

I made a spreadsheet and have a column with "worst case" prices, and at the top it has a running total, which is red if over our limit (£10k) and green if under it. As ive got quotes in its lowered and is now back in the green.

Next column is actual money paid out so far, again will go red if it gets over £10k. My other half doesnt like it as he said its like im aiming for a target, not setting a budget!!

So far ive bought all sorts of odds and sods, whatever i see going cheap really.

We're a year off yet.. Ive got table centrepieces, some fake flower pew ends, bridesmaid dresses, my dress and a load of other bits and bobs.. Just ordered our Goldsmiths vouchers using our tesco vouchers so the wedding rings are free (which has helped get my spreadsheet back in the green!!)

    :-)

We've got the deposit on the venue, the theme was in my head before that - pretty simple since it's my favourite colours and animal. Next is bridesmaid dresses because I've found a high street one I really like that will disappear next season. Then photographer before not doing anything further for a year!

Out of the replies so far I get married before you and I've done nowhere near as much as some people :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Sending my booking off to photographer today, got a fantastic deal of two, all day and 300 images at under £400!
Then going to actually start making some invites :D
