Have you looked to see what your library have got? Our library allows you to order books in from other branches for 30p a book, if you find one that is good you could always buy it. When I've looked in the past, I found it hard to find a book that fitted our style. Flow of rooms was not mentioned, many were American (so the advice was not always transferable) and many were basically pictures of rooms with not much practical advice. Also look at the publication date, some books date quite quickly so for example kitchen design has changed in the last few years in terms of what is available (ie fridge drawers, wire pantry units etc) an older book won't suggest these options.
