Another quick question...
I'm being made redundant at the end of June with 12 weeks payment in lieu of notice.
As i understand it this will have all income tax,ni and pension payments deducted, just as if i had still been working.
Is that right?
Anyway, when do i go and sign on?
Straightaway or after the 12 weeks is up.
I will qualify for 6 months income based JSA.
Would i lose half of this if i do not sign on straight away?
Or would it start when i begin to sign on,say if i left it for the 12 weeks.
Hope i've made myself clear.
Many Thanks...Grumpy.

Sign on as soon as you stop going to work. That is ignore the PILON dates, you are available for work, you do not have employment, and you are available to take up a new job. The JSA will be available to you the first week that you stopped working for the ex-employer, the same for you, as would be for a former colleague who didn't get PILON.
