Sky Gnome transmitter repair tips?

Hi, I have a Sky gnome, sad I know but it gives us a portable radio here in France, it stopped working so I bought another one that works fine and the radio of my old one works with the new one so it must be the transmitter.
Had a look, light is on and it seems to be glued together so I will cut it open. Any simple fixes? I am handy with a soldering iron etc.

Thanks, I have a hard copy of this user guide but for this repair I need something more technical, are there components inside the transmitter that are prone to failure etc???
